Encrypt & Decrypt Data Utility Tool Web Version ("the Web App") is developed and maintained by Amanda Hernow. This policy describes how the Web App handles your data. The short version is: it does not collect, transmit, or store your text or password on any server. Everything stays in your browser on your device.
The Web App collects no personal information, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no crash reports, and no usage profiles. It does not send your text, password, or encrypted output to any backend service.
All cryptographic operations — encryption, decryption, and key derivation — are performed entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API. The text you enter, the password you use, and the encrypted output do not leave your device through the Web App.
The App interacts with your clipboard only through direct user action and only in the following three ways:
When you tap Paste, the App reads your clipboard to fill the input field. When you tap Copy, the App writes the result to your clipboard. When you tap Clear, the App clears your clipboard.
No clipboard content is stored, transmitted, or accessed at any other time. Depending on your browser, clipboard access may require a browser prompt or browser permission when you initiate that action.
The Web App performs encryption and decryption locally and does not require a backend server. Routine use of the tool does not send your text or password anywhere.
The Web App does not integrate advertising networks, analytics platforms, crash reporting tools, or tracking services of any kind.
The Web App does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or similar device features. Clipboard access is only attempted when you explicitly use copy, paste, or clear actions inside the tool.
The Web App does not use cookies, localStorage, or saved passwords for its encryption workflow. No passwords, plaintext, or ciphertext are intentionally written to persistent browser storage by the tool itself.
The Web App does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because it does not collect personal data, it does not create a server-side privacy profile for users of any age.
If this policy is updated, the revised version will be published at this URL with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the Web App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
